Trails are better than roads
Okay, maybe not in every aspect, but hear me out.

Running for me is an art, not a science. I love feeling creative when I run and don't always plan where I'm going before I leave. It's nice to change direction depending on how I'm feeling after a mile or two.
How's that relate to trails over roads? For me, when I'm on a trail, my brain is constantly working calculating the next foot placement, cobweb dodge, how to put the empty gel back in my pocket. What I'm getting at is that it keeps my brain active therefore I'm also thinking about that silly newsletter 👋🏼 I've been wanting to start, how to make corrals more efficient, the merch design on then next hat, etc.
When I'm on a road, my mind shuts down and I do the prescribed work out or get the mile out of the way. I get back and don't feel like I've fully woken up yet sometimes or felt it wasn't productive. I know it's not always necessary, but as a busy Dad of 3, I've got to be picky with my time. Anyone else feel this way? Who's got a good counter for the road? How do you get creative on the run?
